Opening ceremony of EDP class for more than 100 Wenzhou Outstanding Builders was held in the lecture hall of the School of Management on 10 August. Participants include CHEN Zuorong, Committee of Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee and minister of Wenzhou United Front Work Department, CHEN Fangming, vice minister of Wenzhou United Front Work Department and Secretary of Party Committee of Wenzhou Industry and Commerce Association, WANG Dasheng, vice minister of Hefei United Front Work Department and Secretary of Party Committee of Hefei Industry and Commerce Association, TU Jing, deputy dean of USTC Graduate School, ZHAO Dingtao, deputy dean of the School of Management, LIU Zhiying, assistant dean of the School of Management, DING Bin, director of EMBA Centre, WU Lin, director of EDP Centre, Wenzhou Outstanding Builders and Wenzhou-origin entrepreneurs. The ceremony was hosted by CHEN Fangming.

TU Jing welcomed all the participants on behalf of USTC and introduced the achievement of USTC in education and research over 50 years. He stressed that executive education needs the participancy of entrepreneurs.

WANG Dasheng welcomed the participants on behalf of Hefei United Front Work Department, Hefei Industry and Commerce Association and Hefei General Chamber of Commerce. He stated that Hefei Government should learn from Wenzhou Government who usually organizes entrepreneurs to have trainings, and entrepreneurs from Wenzhou are welcome to have an exchange with entrepreneurs in Hefei.

CHEN Zuorong thanked USTC and Hefei Government for their warm reception. He proposed following three requirements for students: 1. Wenzhou is the source of private economy and now it is transforming, and the development of Wenzhou depends on the improvement of entrepreneurs’ quality, ability and knowledge; 2. entrepreneurs should be brave to assume social responsibility. Students should not forget the country, the society and the disadvantage groups; 3. Students should be good at cooperation.

ZHAO Dingtao and CHEN Zuorong gave presents each other on behalf of the School of Management and Wenzhou United Front Work Department.

The study visit this time paid a good opportunity for Wenzhou and Hefei to strengthen their friendship and to prompt cooperation. Anhui provincial Party committee, provincial government, Hefei municipal Party committee and Hefei municipal government paid high attention to the visit of Wenzhou entrepreneurs. An activity was held to propose Wanjiang Demonstration Area after warm reception. WANG Sanyun, Anhui provincial governor, had an interview with Wenzhou entrepreneurs.
