More than 20 students and teachers from EMBA class 1001 of USTC went to Nanning, Guangxi, and took a study tour in Guangxi University on 13 October.
In the morning, prof. FAN Zuojun, from Business School of Guangxi University gave a report named “Research on the Relationship between China and ASEAN since ‘the ASEAN Charter’ and ‘the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint’ Took Effect”. Because of particular district and culture, research on the relationship between ASEAN and China is one of the characteristics of the Business School of Guangxi University. The report included five parts, namely, introduction on research background, the influence on the industrial, economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN since “the ASEAN Charter” took effect, the coordination between China and ASEAN in fiscal policy and finance strategy. According to the report, the ASEAN Charter was signed at the 13th ASEAN Summit on 20 November 2007, and it had both advantages and disadvantages to the further cooperation between China and ASEAN. It is good for China and ASEAN to strengthen their friendship, to prompt the development of industrial division, to coordinate the industrial policies in future cooperation, to improve the negotiation efficiency, and to expand the range of mutual investment.
Prof. ZHAO Dingtao, from USTC, gave a lecture named “Modern Management Environment and Strategic Thinking”. He stated that managers should have certain traits to meet serious challenges, through analyzing main influencing factors in modern management environment, namely, knowledge, globalization and diversification. Subsequently, he summarized the thinking methods that a strategic manager required in different environments. Prof. ZHAO had an exchange in “which is to decide the enterprise success, detail or strategy?” “An enterprise should create demand or pursuit demand” with students.
In the evening, students from USTC and Guangxi University had a party together. They sang songs, danced, played opusculum and so on. Everyone had a good night.
