National MBA Education Reform Pilots Exchange Meeting was held on 4 December 2011, in Kongming, Yunnan. Participants included TANG Jiwei, director of Professional Degree Office of the State Council, Tong Yunhuang, secretary general of National Supervisory Committee for MBA Education, and representatives of 18 management schools who took part in the pilot reform. Professor TU Jin, deputy dean of graduate school, LIANG Liang, executive dean of the School of Management and ZHANG Shengliang, director of MBA Center participated the meeting on behalf of USTC.
MBA reform in USTC has been highly paid attention to, and MBA reform leadership team was founded, with vice president ZHANG Shulin the director. USTC’s achievements of MBA reform include: 1. Admission reform—to make admission more accord with MBA education requirements based on mark and achievements of candidates; 2. Teaching reform—mainly carried out experiential teaching, consisting of “theory + practice” teaching model, Business English teaching and three matches under analog business environment (case development match, market research match and business plan match); 3. Resource building—covering faculty building, case building (case teaching video) and MBA/MPA correcting work.
New Anhui Merchants, experiential teaching and case teaching video of USTC, caused great concern. Professor Tong Yunhuang, secretary general of National Supervisory Committee for MBA Education hoped our university could continue the experiential teaching, and he also spoke highly of the innovation of our university’s case building. Representatives from some other universities took a high interest in the video cases, and they hoped those cases can be shared with others online.
