As the last stop of two-week orientation for junior graduate students of the School of Management, the symposium of academic ethics and ideological and political education was held in the afternoon of 14th September. The symposium was hosted by RUI Feng, deputy secretary of CPC Party Committee of the school, and CAO Weilin, secretary of CPC Party Committee, HU Taizhong, chair of Statistics and Finance Department, ZHU Hongchao, secretary of Youth League Committee, all junior graduate students and their class supervisors were presented at the meeting.

 

Firstly, HONG Hao, president of Graduate Union of the School of Management gave a report of Campus Life of USTC, in which he shared his experience in learning and academic research and particularly introduced the activities organized by the Graduate Union.

 

ZHU Hongchao addressed a report of Interpretation of Handling Graduate Students’ Disciplinary Offence. He responded some students’ misunderstanding of discipline handling and interpreted the management system and disciplinary rules in detail.

 

Professor HU Taizhong gave a report titled Academic Ethics and Academic Norm, in which he analyzed the cause, the characteristics and damage of academic corruption. He warned students to pursue academic ethics given cases of academic credentials fabricating and academic corruption.

 

CAO Weilin concluded the symposium. He encouraged students to achieve their dreams and wished them a happy and fruitful study at USTC.

 

The orientation for junior graduate students of the School of Management was began on 3rd September, including welcoming party ,academic research symposium of Enjoying Science and Technology Life, seminar of graduate students’ public service platform, visiting USTC History Museum, classwide meeting and so on.
