After the ceremony, Zhe George Zhang started a six-day course of Heavy Traffic Approximation Method in Stochastic Service Systems in classroom 5102. The course content includes introduction to stochastic service system, flow fluid model, stochastic limit, diffusion model and the application of the above models. The theory and method is very useful to high quality research in management. Prof. ZHANG impressed all the teachers and students with his enthusiasm. He instructed advanced theory in simple examples. Almost all master and PhD students in Management Science and Engineering attended the class.
Bios of prof. Zhe George Zhang:
Zhe George Zhang, professor of Decision Science in Western Washington University, obtained his MBA degree from York University and PhD degree from University of Waterloo. Prof. ZHANG is also the adjunct professor of Simon Fraser University, guest professor of University of British Columbia and honorary professor of Lanzhou University. Most of Prof. ZHANG’s papers were published in Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Interfaces, Queueing Systems, Journal of Applied Probability,IEEE Transactions, Naval Research Logistics and some other international journals in operational research and applied probability.
