On April 26 to 28, 2015, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) annual conference for 2015 was held in Tampa, Florida, USA. In excess of 1300 delegates from more than 700 business schools around the world attended this annual meeting, sharing business education innovations, and discussing the strategy of business development challenges in the process of devising education countermeasures.
During the meeting, the AACSB accreditation committee arranged a brief certification certificate ceremony. Prof. Robert D. Reid, executive vice president of the certification committee, and chief certification officer, issued the AACSB international accreditation certificate to the School of Management, USTC. YU Yugang (Executive Dean of the School), CAO Weilin (secretary of the party committee), DING Bin (deputy dean), and QU Qifa (assistant dean) attended the meeting together, representing USTC.
The management school of USTC, is the first in the world to be accepted using AACSB’s new standards of certification, therefore, YU Yugang, Executive Dean of the School of Management, accepted the special invitation from Prof. Robert Reid (executive vice president of the AACSB accreditation committee and chief certification officer) to make a keynote speech at the conference in order to elucidate the innovation of the AACSB accreditation faculty classification configuration. During the keynote speech, Dean YU Yugang shared with conventioneers the successful experience of the Management School of USTC to pass the certification, and explained his own unique insights about the existing problems in the development of business education and the continuous improvement of direction and tasks. The speech was widely welcomed by delegates in an interactive atmosphere. The audience burst into thunderous applause.
The AACSB was established in the United States in 1916, first jointly sponsored by Columbia University, Cornell University, Harvard University, New York University, Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, the University of California, Berkeley University, etc., a total of 17 famous universities with business schools. It is headquartered in Tampa, Florida, USA. After one hundred years of continuous improvement, the set of evaluation standards of AACSB has been recognized as the most authoritative quality certification in global business education.
