Dept. of Business Management

The SOM of USTC established the Department of Business Administration in 2008. Now the Department of Business Administration has doctor, master and bachelor degrees programmes. There are 35 teachers including 6 professors and 22 associate professors.


The Department of Business Administration upholds the school mission “To generate ideas and tools to enrich management theory and practice, to develop talents and leaders to serve China” and makes great efforts in teaching, research and social services. Its scientific research mainly focuses on the integration of China's experience with the international advanced research methods. From 2008 to 2014, it was sponsored by dozens of national scientific research funds, including the national social science major tender projects, etc. It has two research institutions: 1) “centre for business administration innovation”, a provincial key centre for humanities and social sciences research; 2) “Research Centre for Sustainability and Innovation”, a key Laboratory of USTC. The main research areas include: strategic management, innovation and technology management, entrepreneurship management, marketing, operation management and supply chain management, regional economy and sustainable development, etc. In social services, extensive consultation and cooperation programmes are launched to support enterprises, governments and social organizations with intellectual resources. What’s more, in-depth international cooperation in the teaching and scientific research are established with University of Western Australia, Texas A & M University, Fu Jen Catholic University of Taiwan, etc. More than 10 international universities are partners of the Department of Business Administration.


With the AACSB accreditation of the SOM, the Department of Business Administration dynamically reforms its programme and curriculum structure to improve teaching and learning effectiveness to promote research and regional economy.
